Digital SAT 2026-27 International students

SAT test dates 2026-2027
for international students

Quick answer (checked October 27, 2026): the next SAT you can register for is Saturday, December 5, 2026: register by November 20, or by November 24 with the US$38 late fee (11:59 p.m. ET). Registration for November 7, 2026 closed on October 27. The full 2026-27 list is August 22, September 12, October 3, November 7 and December 5, 2026, then March 6, May 1 and June 5, 2027. The first three have passed. College Board says the October to June dates and deadlines apply to U.S. and international students alike.

All 2026-27 SAT dates and deadlines

These are College Board's SAT Weekend dates. Each test date links to its official College Board page. The third column is one combined deadline: College Board uses the same date as the last day for late registration, for changes to your registration and for a regular (cheaper) cancellation.

What 11:59 p.m. ET means where you live

Every deadline is set on U.S. Eastern Time, so outside the Americas it falls the next morning. The December 5 regular deadline (November 20, 11:59 p.m. ET) is 5:59 a.m. on November 21 in Madrid, Milan or Zurich, 8:59 a.m. in Dubai, 10:29 a.m. in Mumbai and 12:59 p.m. in Singapore. The spring 2027 deadlines in April and May fall after the U.S. clock change, so they close at 7:59 a.m. in Dubai, 9:29 a.m. in Mumbai and 11:59 a.m. in Singapore, and still 5:59 a.m. in Central Europe. Our advice: treat the evening before as your real deadline.

Sunday testing

If you cannot test on a Saturday for religious reasons, College Board offers Sunday testing the day after most Saturday dates: November 8 and December 6, 2026, and March 7, May 2 and June 6, 2027. You need a signed letter from a religious leader and a request through College Board's inquiry form. Sunday testing is not available in India or Pakistan.

Were the August and September SAT dates international?

You will still read online that August and September SAT dates are U.S.-only school-day sessions. College Board's own pages do not support that for 2026. Its score release table lists August 22 and September 12, 2026 as SAT Weekend dates (school-day testing has its own windows), and its list of international test centers that charge a center fee is titled "August 2026 to June 2027". What College Board no longer shows is a direct statement on international availability for those two dates, because they have passed and were removed from the dates page. For the 2027 cycle, College Board lists anticipated dates of August 28, September 18, October 9, November 6 and December 4, 2027, then March 4, May 6 and June 3, 2028. Check the dates page for which ones open internationally when registration starts.

How to pick a date by application deadline

Our advice, not College Board rules

The test date that matters is the score release date, plus the time it takes a college to receive your score. College Board says score reports are typically sent a couple of weeks after test day if you chose recipients when registering, or within 5 to 10 business days of a later order. Build that margin in, and plan a second sitting in case the first score falls short. Your free Digital SAT score calculator turns a practice test into a scaled estimate, which tells you early whether you need that second date.

Your deadlineDates that still fit
US Early Decision or Early Action (usually November 1 or 15)October 3 was the last date with scores (October 16) before November 1. November 7 scores arrive November 20, so use it only for colleges that say they accept November scores for early rounds. Check each college's testing page.
US Regular Decision (usually early to mid January)December 5 (scores December 18) is the last comfortable date. November 7 leaves room for a December retake.
UK universities through UCASMost UCAS applicants never need the SAT. It matters mainly if you follow an American curriculum and a university asks for SAT or AP results. Check the course page before you book.
Bocconi (international applicants, Winter Session)Per our Bocconi 2027-2028 deadlines guide, the Winter Session closes January 26, 2027, and you only need to name Bocconi (code 7206) as a score recipient by then. November 7 and December 5 both fit.
Other European universities that take the SATRounds run from autumn to spring. See our SAT requirements for 34 European programs for each school's minimum and deadline, then work back from the round you want.
Juniors applying in fall 2027March 6, May 1 or June 5, 2027 for a first score, with the anticipated August and September 2027 dates as retakes before early rounds.

How to register from outside the US

Registration is online and works the same in every country. College Board says it takes about 30 minutes and that you must register yourself: a parent or counselor cannot do it for you.

  1. Create or sign in to your College Board account using your full legal name exactly as it appears on the ID you will bring.
  2. Choose the date and test center. Not every center has seats or runs every date; you see availability while registering. Centers outside the US do not get the Waitlist option, which College Board offers only in the US.
  3. Upload a photo in .jpg, .gif or .png: head-on, your whole face, both eyes and your hair visible, no filters. If the photo does not meet the photo requirements, you will not be allowed to test, even if the upload said "successful".
  4. Pick up to four free score recipients now or until nine days after the test.
  5. Pay by American Express, Discover, JCB, MasterCard, UnionPay or Visa, or with PayPal (not available in Ghana).
  6. Install Bluebook on your testing device at least 30 days before test day, then complete exam setup 1 to 5 days before to get your admission ticket.

If you test in Hong Kong, College Board asks you not to contact the center and to use the HKEAA website instead. If you need to borrow a device, register for a date at least 30 days away and request the device in My SAT at least 30 days before test day; College Board ships loaned devices to test centers worldwide but does not guarantee one. Changing, cancelling or missing your date

Our advice: if your preparation is behind, cancel by the change deadline instead of sitting a test you expect to retake. The US$34 is cheaper than a weak score you then have to explain or outscore.

Sending scores to universities

Each SAT Weekend registration includes four free score reports. You can name or change those recipients until nine days after the test; after that each report costs US$15. If you have several test dates, you choose which dates to send, but you cannot mix the Math score from one date with Reading and Writing from another. Some universities superscore across dates and some ask for every score, so check each one. Universities generally accept scores only when sent by College Board, not screenshots or transcripts.

Frequently asked questions

When is the next SAT date for international students?

The next SAT is Saturday, November 7, 2026. Its regular deadline (October 23) has passed, and late registration closes on October 27, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET with a US$38 late fee. The next date with regular registration still open is December 5, 2026: register by November 20, or by November 24 with the late fee. After that come March 6, May 1 and June 5, 2027.

What are the SAT test dates for 2026-2027?

The 2026-27 SAT Weekend dates are August 22, September 12, October 3, November 7 and December 5, 2026, and March 6, May 1 and June 5, 2027. The first three have already taken place. College Board states that the October 2026 to June 2027 dates and deadlines apply to all students, U.S. and international.

Are the August and September SAT dates available outside the US?

Both 2026 dates have already taken place, and College Board's dates page no longer lists them. College Board does classify August 22 and September 12 as SAT Weekend dates, not school-day testing, and its list of international test centers that charge a center fee covers August 2026 to June 2027. For 2027, College Board anticipates SAT dates on August 28 and September 18.

When is the SAT registration deadline for international students?

International students have the same deadlines as U.S. students, and every deadline expires at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time, which is already the next morning in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. For December 5, 2026 the regular deadline is November 20 and the late deadline is November 24. For March 6, 2027 they are February 19 and February 23; for May 1, April 16 and April 20; for June 5, May 21 and May 25.

How much does the SAT cost for international students?

US$111: the US$68 registration fee plus a US$43 international fee. Some centers in Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan add a US$24 test center fee. Late registration costs US$38, changing your test center US$34, cancelling US$34 by the change deadline or US$44 after it, and each score report beyond your four free ones US$15.

Can I change my SAT test date?

Not directly. To change the test date, College Board requires you to cancel and register for a new test. Cancelling by the change deadline costs US$34; after it, and until 11:59 p.m. ET on the Thursday before test day, it costs US$44, and the rest of the registration fee is refunded. If you are absent on test day, you have to register and pay again.

When do SAT scores come out, and how many free score reports do I get?

Student scores for the remaining dates come out on November 20 and December 18, 2026, and March 19, May 14 and June 21, 2027. Each registration includes four free score reports if you choose or change the recipients by nine days after the test; after that each report costs US$15.

What ID do I need to take the SAT abroad?

An original, unexpired, physical photo ID issued by a government or by the school you attend now, showing your full legal name exactly as it appears on your admission ticket. Digital IDs are refused. If you travel to another country to test, you must use a passport. Some countries are stricter: in the UAE, Jordan, Korea, Thailand and Vietnam you need a national ID from that country or a passport, and test takers who are 21 or older need a government-issued ID.
